Sotheby’s will hold an Autumn Auction in London and present Rolex Ref. 6239 ‘Paul Newman’ Daytona Chronograph owned by British racing legend Jim Russell.

   Mr. Russell has a brilliant career, and in 1965 he also founded the world famous Jim Russell Racing School. Mr. Russell died early this year at the age of 98.

   The Daytona watch worn by Mr. Russell dates back to 1968 and was described by Sotheby’s as an excellent example of the fiery antique Rolex market, and even one of the most recognizable watches in the world.

   Sotheby’s auction house added, ‘Mr. Russell has been wearing this watch for 50 years and it will help him complete the key task of calculating the fastest lap.’

   It is reported that this Rolex Ref. 6239 ‘Paul Newman’ Dayton took the chronograph valued at 60,000 to 90,000 pounds, equivalent to about 530,000 to 79,000 yuan. (Photo / text watch home Xu Chaoyang)
